In this challenging time, many resources are available to help families, businesses, and nonprofits impacted by economic crisis, but knowing where to begin can be challenging!

In this newsletter we have compiled many of the available resources into one place. Some of the programs are still in development and we'll share more information as it becomes available.

Families and Individuals
Miami-Dade Pandemic Assistance Program

This $20 million fund, a partnership of Miami-Dade County and the United Way of Miami-Dade, aims to address short-term economic hardship by providing financial assistance for basic living expenses such as food, utilities, childcare, medical costs and rental assistance.

Small Businesses
RISE Miami-Dade Small Business Loans

The RISE Miami-Dade Fund supports impacted small businesses with loans of up to $30,000. Eligible businesses operate in Miami-Dade County, have been in operation for at least two years, have gross sales of less than $2,000,000, and have 25 or fewer employees or independent contractors.


Small Business Assistance Forgivable Loans

The Small Business Assistance Forgivable Loan program aims to maintain and strengthen small businesses and provide financial support needed to retain jobs, for businesses where 51% of jobs are held by low to moderate-income persons. Eligible businesses are for-profits located and operating in Miami Dade County; have 25 or fewer employees; have not have been approved or received funds from any institution under the Paycheck Protection Program Loan (PPP); and create or retains jobs for low- and moderate-income (LMI) residents.

CareerSource South Florida COVID-19 Layoff Aversion Fund

The COVID-19 Layoff Aversion Fund is designed to support small businesses and/or community based organizations (CBOs) in Miami-Dade and Monroe that are facing financial impacts and potential layoffs due to COVID-19.

Hospitality Industry
[NEW] Hospitality Industry Grant Program

The Miami-Dade County Hospitality Industry Grant program designates $30 million of CARES Act funding to support our local hospitality industry. Eligible businesses are restaurants or non-home-based caterers with a Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation License to operate as a restaurant or caterer.

SOBEWFF/FIU Chaplin School Hospitality Relief Fund

Establishments forced to temporarily cease operations, layoff or furlough employees, or whose businesses have been severely diminished due to the COVID-19 pandemic are eligible to receive funds to provide compensation and other benefits to employees.

Hotel Worker Relief Grant Program

Up to 2,500 unemployed or furloughed hotel workers will be eligible to receive financial compensation of $1,000 for successfully completing a hotel training workshop.

This program is under development; we'll share more information as it becomes available.
Nonprofits and Cultural Organizations
Grants for Organizations

Cultural and arts institutions and organizations impacted by COVID-19 are eligible to receive funds through the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs for expenses including employee payroll costs, business interruption costs, support for programming, and re-opening expenses.

This grant will be ready by Mid-August. Check back here for more information.

Grants for Artists

Individual artists, creatives, and cultural gig workers who have been negatively impacted by COVID-19 and have not already received support are eligible for $500 grants via the Miami-Dade Artists Support! (MAS!) Program.
