TCA Welcomes Acclaimed Designer Michael Simon as Honorary Guest
Turtle Creek Association is thrilled to announce that Michael Simon, the renowned New York-based interior designer, furniture creator, and collector, will be our honorary guest at this year’s Gala and Home Tour.
Before embarking on his celebrated design career, Michael Simon trained as a composer under the legendary Stephen Sondheim and John Corigliano. He pursued classical music at Carnegie Mellon University and the Manhattan School of Music, and his unique background in composition continues to influence his design philosophy today.
In 1995, Simon founded his own design firm, bringing with him a deep understanding of compositional elements such as line, balance, harmony, and rhythm, which he masterfully applies to “composing rooms.” His work is a harmonious blend of art and design, drawing from his musical roots to create spaces that feel as beautifully orchestrated as a symphony.
Simon is also a respected voice in the decorative arts, frequently lecturing and contributing to prestigious institutions like The Society of the Four Arts, Hillwood Estate, Museum & Gardens, and Sotheby’s Institute of Art. His work has been widely published, earning him a well-deserved place among the design world’s top influencers. His commitment to historic preservation is equally impressive, as he serves on the board of Edith Wharton’s The Mount in Lenox, Massachusetts, and consults on historic estates, including Manhattan’s Morris-Jumel Mansion.
We are deeply grateful to Michael Simon for his generosity and support of Turtle Creek Association, and we are excited to welcome him as our honorary guest for this year’s festivities.
