HART HOUSE THEATRE UPDATE

Issue 8, 2017/2018 Season | August 22, 2017
For those about to rock...
HEDWIG Production Team
Each season, Hart House Theatre is honoured to provide a stage for emergent talent - talents that are sure to find a home on professional Canadian stages. Here are a few of the artists who are working behind the scenes to help Hedwig rock the house:

Rebecca Ballarin, Director
Rebecca returns to Hart House Theatre after directing last season's audience favourite, 7 Stories. She is a freelance director and producer, and recent graduate of the Centre for Drama, Theatre and Performance Studies at the University of Toronto. In addition to her training under Leah Cherniak at U of T, Rebecca has completed directing workshops with Adam Seelig, Matthew Jocelyn and Kim Collier. She also recently worked as the Professional Theatre and Education Manager at Theatre Ontario, and spent a summer as the Youth and Community Outreach Coordinator at Canadian Stage

Giustin MacLean , Music Director
Giustin is no stranger to our stage after Music Directing Carrie: the musical, Into The Woods, Jesus Christ Superstar and The Wedding Singer in past seasons. Originally from Nova Scotia, Giustin now lives in Toronto and works as a Music Director, Conductor, Pianist, Vocal Coach, and Keyboard Programmer. More about Giustin here >>

Shannon Lea Doyle, Set and Lighting Designer
We are thrilled to welcome Shannon to our stage for the first time. She has already made quite a name for herself and has several well-earned accolades to prove it! Shannon is a Graduate of OCAD University and the Soulpepper Academy. She is the winner of a 2017 Dora Award for Scenic Design, nominee for the 2017 Pauline McGibbon Award and recipient of the OCADU Sculpture and Installation Medal 2013.

Kathleen Black, Costume Designer
Our audiences may remember Kathleen's work in past productions. Her work on We The Family and The Tempest was stellar and her costumes for Boeing Boeing earned her a Subscriber's Choice Award. As well as being a talented designer, Kathleen is also an active performer on stage and screen.
