A-PAL Spotlight: Hope For Pets In Need

With YOUR support, we never say no to injured or special needs animals. Thank you for helping us provide urgent care for these cats and dogs. YOUR support saves lives.

Saving Otis

Otis is a German Shepherd mix that came to us from a Good Samaritan who found him wandering on Electra Road. Otis was rail thin with a horribly swollen face. He required care from two separate veterinary clinics to treat a stubborn abscess. Now on the mend and looking for his forever home, Otis is with Master Trainer Marge Blair. If you would like to meet this good boy, please call 209-217-7550.

A New Life for Scooter

A-PAL recently came to the aid of Scooter, a 14-year-old cat brought to us after his owner died. Scooter was thin at intake due to hyperthyroidism, which is treatable with medication. He takes two pills daily now and is doing great. Scooter was adopted and is thriving in his new home.

Brave Buddy

Buddy is a sweetheart of a black cat who survived a coyote attack. He needed surgery to repair the large wound he sustained, and A-PAL made sure he received immediate care. Buddy is resilient, and aside from a white patch of fur, you would never know he had such a serious injury. Buddy is up for adoption and looking for his forever home.

Thank You for Supporting Low-Cost Spay/Neuter

This year, thanks to generous donations, A-PAL provided low-cost spay or neuter surgeries for more than 100 cats through our special clinics for Amador County residents. We truly appreciate Jackson Creek Veterinary Clinic and Acorn Hills Animal Center for facilitating these clinics, which we hope will prevent unwanted litters. A-PAL also provides free spay/neuter surgeries for feral cats of Amador County residents. Many of our unwanted kittens come from feral cats, and we appreciate all of our veterinarian partners who participate in this program.

A-PAL Humane Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization supported solely by donations; 100 percent of donations are used for the benefit of the animals in Amador County.
