Designing for Wildlife Impact
This semester, the Wildlife Clinic of Rhode Island partnered with students from Roger Williams University’s Citizen Designer class, whose work brought fresh perspective and practical creativity to our outreach and operational needs. Through thoughtfully designed materials and media concepts, students explored how design can support wildlife care, education, and public engagement.
The ideas and tools developed through this collaboration are now being incorporated into our planning for 2026. Partnerships like this allow us to extend our impact beyond direct animal care, strengthening how we communicate, educate, and operate as an organization dedicated to wildlife conservation.
In addition to our partnership with Roger Williams University, we have also collaborated with students from the Rhode Island School of Design through their course Designing for More than Human Worlds. As part of this work, students have created custom enrichment items for the Wildlife Clinic, including the bobcat scratching structure shown here, which is currently in use.
Educators and community groups interested in learning more about classroom visits, Wildlife Clinic tours, or collaborative projects are welcome to contact us at info@riwildliferehab.org
