As I reflect on the Fall season, I have many reasons to be thankful for our IDA community. From our members to our mission partners, I am grateful for the collective work we are doing around dyslexia awareness, structured literacy, and empowerment.
The season culminated with two invigorating in-person excursions to represent Oregon and connect with our greater community.
In San Antonio at the IDA-Conference, I was joined by our Vice President Jared Blank, as well as our six scholarship recipients. Together with colleagues from across the globe, we embarked on three days of deep learning on dyslexia, structured literacy, and empowerment. #UntilEveryoneCanRead
In San Francisco I had the pleasure to attend the opening of the Dyslexic Dictionary Exhibition. On display now through December 22nd, the exhibit highlights a vibrant diversity of dyslexic talent across mediums in an effort to lead a paradigm shift in the way society understands learning differences. Students from our area contributed to the exhibit as Dyslexic Dictionary Global Ambassadors.
Warm Thanksgiving wishes to you and yours!
With Gratitude,
Danielle Thompson
