Science is Simply Common Sense at its Best
  • Like Joe Friday in Dragnet always said, "The facts, just the facts”.
  • Learn the facts by attending BevTech 2023.
  • Join a Technical Committee and get involved with the creation and updating of Guidelines and Best Practices.
  • Take a Beverage Institute Course!

The Beverage Institute’s partner, The Packaging School also offers online courses that provide value to beverage industry professionals.
Packaging Laws and Regulations
  • An essential introduction to the art, science, and business of packaging. In this course, we map out the major regulatory agencies such as FDA, EPA, USDA, CFR, ASTM, and ISO. Once defined, we break down relevant and applicable laws into cheat sheets so you can have immediate access to them when working on projects. By no means is this course a replacement for legal review, but it is an ideal way to build the foundation of the laws and regulations applicable to packaging.

Have you ever used these industry standard quality measuring techniques?
  • Carbonation testing by the ABA Lab trucks was to poor Cola on the ground and see how far the “fizz” traveled.
  • 2L PET bottle closure testing was to drop it from 10 feet and see if the ROPP closure failed. Many QC departments had to buy a step ladder to do this test.

Committee Profile
Sweetener Technical Committee

The goal of the sweetener technical committee is to foster an environment in which beverage industry professionals can share information relating to sweeteners; including their use, benefits, issues, storage, security, sustainability, and transportation that promotes continuous improvement and environmental responsibility. It is a forum where sweetener manufacturers, beverage producers, and supply chain providers can share mutually beneficial technologies that will enhance the beverage industry; and where technical questions, ideas, and problems related to sweeteners and their utilization can be openly presented with the expectation of receiving satisfactory discussions, answers, or solutions.
