Beverage industry supplier members can get their products and services in front of professionals from global soft drink brands and regional bottlers year-round. Sponsorships include content-based marketing programs, allowing suppliers the opportunity to control their message to their potential customers (instead of allowing their competitors to tell their story for them).

Committee Profile
Sanitation and Microbiological Control Technical Committee Leadership Changes

We are very excited to share with you that Kris Krueger has accepted the position as Chair of the Sanitation and Microbiological Control Technical Committee. Bret Vastano held this position for several years, providing strong leadership; but he recently decided to step down due to new job responsibilities at PepsiCo. With Bret’s leadership and support, the committee has launched many initiatives and achieved several accolades, most significant of which are:

1. Developed the Basics of Beverage Microbiology module for the Beverage Institute by ISBT®
2. Revised the ISBT Sanitation Manual
3. Supported the ISBT Covid Guidance Document
4. Initiated joint committee work with the Water Quality & Treatment, Quality, and Packaging Technology Technical Committees

Kris was appointed 2nd Vice Chair in 2019 and then moved into the 1st Vice Chair in 2020. He will now take over as the Technical Committee Chair from Bret. Kris has done a fantastic job of coordinating key committee initiatives and helping develop our BevTech 2021 Technical Committee session. As chair, Kris will continue to advance the goals and objectives of the committee and take on new initiatives to further its mission. Bret will provide support to Kris through the transition period and will continue to be a member of ISBT. Taking over Kris’s role as 1st Vice Chair will be John Keenan. John was appointed 2nd Vice Chair in 2020 and has been very helpful in supporting the committee. John will now take on a larger role within the committee with this change. Kris and John will be filling the open 2nd Vice Chair position soon.

We would like to wish Bret the best of luck in his new role, and we would like to thank Kris and John for their ongoing support and leadership of this committee
