NISOD UPDATE

NISOD Interim Associate Director: Kris Tolman

We are pleased to announce Kris Tolman, M.S., as NISOD Interim Associate Director. Kris was previously NISOD Education Programming Manager.

Prior to NISOD, Kris worked in faculty development and was an adjunct professor at Austin Community College (ACC). She received both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Brigham Young University and is currently working towards a Doctorate of Philosophy in adult education at Texas State University. She has led various service learning initiatives including an Elementary School Health Education Outreach for a local elementary school serving minority students and the Tiny Earth Student Sourcing Antibiotic Discovery program through Wisconsin University.

Kris’s current research interests include barriers to diversity, equity, and inclusion training, the intersection of adult development and adult learning, and psychological safety in the classroom.

Under Kris's leadership, we look forward to continuing to deliver on NISOD's mission of providing professional development excellence to our members.

CAMPUS WORKSHOPS

Campus workshops allow colleagues to come together at a more localized level to share experiences, network, and learn from one another as they address issues and best practices that are specifically relevant to their institution. They are more affordable, too!
