August Edition

It’s been an incredible summer camp filled with unforgettable experiences and opportunities to explore beyond the Club’s door. Our members enjoyed baseball games, animal parks, ranch visits, lush gardens, beach days, amusement parks, science and career exploration, college tours, and so much more.

Much of this summer success is thanks to our dedicated Club staff professionals. In addition to our outstanding year-round team, we were fortunate to have a stellar group of seasonal staff members who brought enthusiasm, creativity, and energy to our summer program.

Some big new school year news is that thanks to Vista Unified, the Boys & Girls Club of Vista will be able to provide free athletic programs to all middle schools for the 2026-2027 school year! We’re also excited to continue expanding our afterschool transportation program to serve more Vista Unified schools. If you’re interested in having your school included in future after-school transportation routes, please reach out—we’d love to hear from you.



As we prepare to begin another school year, let’s extend grace and encouragement to our Club staff, teachers, students, and families as they navigate the opportunities and challenges that come with a new school year. Every day, Club staff, teachers and volunteers help shape the future by inspiring, supporting, and leading the way for the next generation of leaders.

Thank You for Making Our Back-to-School Backpack Giveaway a Success!

Because of the incredible generosity of our community, this year's Back-to-School Community Resource Fair was a tremendous success! Together, we helped over 600 local youth head back to the classroom with the supplies, resources, and confidence they need for a great school year.

Teens visited Hunter Industries, where they received a behind-the-scenes look at how a large company operates. They learned about opportunities in engineering, horticulture, manufacturing, technology, skilled trades, business operations, and other professional fields. The experience helped members see that there are many pathways to a successful career. .

Our Career Launch members had the opportunity to explore two very different workplaces this month. During a visit to Vista’s newest fire station, members toured the facility, learned more about the daily responsibilities of firefighters, and gained a better understanding of the teamwork, training, and dedication required in emergency services.

In the final weeks of Summer Camp Club Members completed their own “All About Me” mini-books. This activity encouraged them to reflect on their personalities, interests, families, favorite activities, and future goals while also allowing them to express their creativity.



Members also participated in a healthy living activity that focused on staying hydrated during the summer. They learned how to create healthy flavored waters using fruits and other fresh ingredients. This gave members a fun alternative to sugary drinks while teaching them simple ways to stay hydrated and beat the summer heat.

The countdown is on, and the excitement is building!
