NICU Miracle: Baby Apatsa’s Story

When baby Apatsa was born struggling to breathe, his parents feared the worst. But thanks to our NICU and the life-saving care provided by CLI staff, Apatsa is now healthy and strong.

“Everyone who saw my baby the day he was born is in disbelief that he’s alive today… But thanks to CLI, I have a reason to smile again,” shared his mother, Lonessa Goodson from Chikalipo village.

Diagnosed with severe pneumonia and dangerously low oxygen levels, Apatsa received oxygen therapy, antibiotics, and warmth in our NICU’s isolation unit. Our dedicated team, and the equipment that donors helped provide, made all the difference.

Books & Breakthroughs

We’re already seeing the incredible impact of the new CLI School Library! Students now have access to shelves full of age-appropriate books, vibrant learning spaces, and the encouragement to dream big. Test scores are rising and so is their confidence.

"Thank you for building this library at our school and for providing us with good books to read. On this term's examination, I have passed very well. I am in first place in my 3rd grade class." - Theodore Chimkonda, CLI Primary School student, Grade 3.

This term, the children had a special visitor named Paige, a volunteer from Texas, who spent time helping in our primary school. Her warmth, energy, and passion for education were contagious. The students absolutely adored her, and she quickly became a beloved part of campus life.

With Paige’s help, students received extra attention in English, especially in reading and pronunciation, and many made remarkable progress. Her presence reminded the children that their future is full of opportunity and that they are seen, valued, and loved.

Hope in Action: Grace Community Church in Malawi

This month we hosted a team from Grace Community Church (USA), and their impact was unforgettable. This was the second trip to CLI for each of the 4 visitors and once again, they made the most of their time serving with us.

• They painted vibrant murals of Jonah and the whale and Noah's Ark in classrooms.

• They painted verses and served in the CLI Church.

• They sorted and organized large deliveries of supplies for the hospital.

• They joined our water team as they repaired a broken well in Kombe Village. The repair restored safe water to hundreds of people in need. They also shared the love of God with the village, leading over 30 people to Jesus!
