Dear Friends,
My hope is this newsletter finds you and your family healthy and well. These past few months have been some that we will never forget.
The pandemic has put additional stress on our patients who are navigating financial, emotional, and health struggles during their breast cancer treatment. At the same time Ellie Fund’s signature fundraising events have been changed to accommodate social distancing and safe protocols. As the needs of breast cancer patients grow, Ellie Fund cannot and will not shrink in the face of demand. COVID -19 may have an ending, but breast cancer does not.
I am proud of the Ellie Fund team. They have been creative and nimble in establishing new revenue strategies such as our new Ellie Fund Now campaign and pivoting our 5 for Ellie Fashion show into a successful television event broadcast by our media partner WCVB Channel 5.
Since our last newsletter, we’ve had new members join our Board of Directors. It is my pleasure to welcome Jeannie Shanahan, President of Twin Star Consulting, Cynthia Levine Kropp and Amy Comander, MD, Hematologist-Oncologist at Mass General Hospital Cancer Center at Newton Wellesley and Waltham. Their experience in finance, oncology, and business are tremendous assets to Ellie Fund.
It is as a team -- our Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, and supporters -- that the Ellie Fund will continue to serve patients who need our help during this difficult time in their lives.
We appreciate you being part of our Ellie Fund team.
Sincerely,
Scott Clifford
