Tools Down, Heads High: Construction Ready Group 8 Graduates with Purpose

The best is yet to come for the recent graduates of Construction Ready Aerotropolis Group 8! Over 20 days at the City of East Point Annex, these participants showed up, showed out, and earned industry certifications with job placement support included. No cost, just commitment. We’re proud to be part of a program that’s truly changing lives, one graduate at a time.


Since 2014, Construction Ready has had 153 graduating classes with over 2000 participants learn more about the various programs and opportunities by clicking the link below.

Clayton County Selected for ARC’s Community Development Assistance Program

Clayton County and the cities of Lake City, Lovejoy, Forest Park, Riverdale, and Jonesboro, will receive a $200,000 grant to conduct a technical, data-driven analysis of the current housing market.

ATL Airport CID Launches Shift on Demand Microtransit Service

On August 14th, the ATL Airport Community Improvement District will officially launched Shift on Demand, a new microtransit service aimed at connecting more workers to more jobs across South Metro Atlanta. This innovative transportation solution is designed to improve access to employment hubs and support workforce mobility in the region.

Clayton State Hosts Social Mobility Summit to Drive Equity and Opportunity

Clayton State University recently hosted its Social Mobility Summit, bringing together educators, community stakeholders, and thought leaders to explore the role of higher education in advancing social mobility.


The event featured panels, workshops, and discussions on key issues including access to education, economic opportunity, and student success—particularly in the context of the greater metro Atlanta area.


The Summit reflects Clayton State’s continued commitment to breaking down barriers and fostering upward mobility both on campus and across the state of Georgia.

Clayton County Approves $959M Data Center Project

The Development Authority of Clayton County has approved an incentive package for a $959 million data center project by a subsidiary of TA Realty. Located along East Tanners Church Road, the project adds to the growing wave of data center development in metro Atlanta—now one of the nation’s top markets for digital infrastructure and computer storage space.

Navigating student loan changes? 

The federal government recently passed new legislation that changes several aspects of student loan programs, from borrowing limits to repayment options. As these shifts take effect, the Community Foundation remains committed to helping borrowers across metro Atlanta manage the cost of higher education.


Our student debt repayment program will relaunch on August 11 to provide direct financial support to those carrying student loan debt. Applications close on September 9.

Neighborhood Fund applications are now open

The Neighborhood Fund provides neighborhood-based project grants addressing a neighborhood issue or concern. Organizations must be located and provide services in Historic Thomasville, South Cobb and South Fulton. Please see below for 2025 cycle timing. Click below to apply.

Mayor Bianca Motley Broom Elected President of Georgia Municipal Association

Mayor Bianca Motley Broom was elected President of the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) during the organization’s annual convention held in Savannah on Sunday, June 22. She will lead alongside a new slate of officers, including Young Harris Mayor Andrea Gibby (First Vice President), Suwanee Mayor Jimmy Burnette (Second Vice President), Augusta Mayor Garnett Johnson (Third Vice President), and Madison Mayor Fred Perriman (Immediate Past President).
