We would like to take this opportunity to wish all of our members a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Thank you for your continued support throughout the year and we look forward to working with you in 2018.

As we draw towards the end of another year it is a good time to look back at all we have achieved on behalf of our members over the past year and of course what we could improve upon for the coming year...

Programmes and Advocacy 
  • Budget 2018 submission to government on retention of the 9% VAT rate and other tax and policy measures
  • National Fitness Day with support from Healthy Ireland Fund and Sport Ireland
  • Get Ireland Swimming programme launched and funding from the Healthy Ireland fund
  • LetsBeActive programme with Europe Active funding received and launch in January 2018
  • IBEC Workplace Wellbeing Day partnership
  • CARA Centre Fit4All partnership
Policy and Standards
  • Submission on National Sports Policy (to be launched in 2018), meeting with Minister Griffin to discuss scheduled for January 2018
  • White Flag standards recommended by Dept of Local Government value for money review
  • Regulation of the Aquatic Leisure Industry with IWS initiated
  • European Fitness Standards meetings and draft document produced

Training Courses

The  EuropeActive (EA), supported by Deloitte, conducts a survey on the European health & fitness market each year. The results of this survey will give an insight into market development and trends in the fitness sector. Thus the survey will contribute to this growing industry and is a great tool for you as well as for suppliers, investors, politicians and other stakeholders.

National Fitness Day - Competition Winners

Thank you to all the facilities who entered their members into a competition as part of National Fitness Day to win a €250 membership voucher. The draw was made last week with Sport Ireland and the winners will be communicated to the facilities this week.
