Annual Awards Banquet & Auction, held in April, is the Chamber’s primary fundraiser, and a chance for the Chamber to acknowledge achievements of the year prior and goals for the future. The Coeur d'Alene Salvation Army Kroc Center wants to make the season of giving line up with the season of need. Many local food banks are running low on donations, so they are teaming up with you —to help restock our local food pantries.

If you sell online, be sure to read the details of a recent Supreme Court ruling: 'Wayfair vs. South Dakota' that went into effect on June 21st, 2018. As of that date, online resellers are liable and expected to collect and pay the correct sales tax in over 10,000 jurisdictions across the USA. Chamber Member Alpaca Direct has been implementing these tax changes for their website and estimates an increase of over 1,000% in accounting and technology costs to be compliant.

Research Resource: travel economic impacts
At the Idaho Conference on Recreation and Tourism in October, Dean Runyan Associates presented summary statistics from their 2017 research project . Dean Runyan Associates' interactive website gives users access to Idaho travel economic impact data which can be selected by county, travel region, legislative district or statewide. The reporting provides statistics on direct travel spending, employment, earnings and tax receipts.
