Dear Friends,
As we celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Funhouse Commons, we are filled with deep gratitude for the visionaries, founders, staff, board members, volunteers, donors, and—most importantly—the thousands of young people who have found a welcoming home here over the years.
At the forefront of this incredible journey are
Jim and Anne Bredouw. Jim’s vision for creating “a place like no other,” where hands-on, creative learning sparks curiosity and inspires discovery, has become an extraordinary gift to our community.
Over the past 25 years, this vision has grown into a monumental asset, touching countless lives and fostering a spirit of wonder and connection.
Today, we have the privilege of carrying this vision forward, ensuring the Funhouse Commons remains a place of belonging and discovery—a place where every young person on Orcas Island is welcomed, supported, and inspired.
As we honor the past, we also extend our heartfelt thanks to YOU!
Your participation and support have brought countless programs and events to life, fueling creativity, learning, and a sense of wonder and connection.
We are thrilled to share that our year-end campaign, Raise the MAST for 2025, was an overwhelming success! Thanks to the generosity of over 100 individuals, we exceeded our goal, raising more than $85,000. This remarkable achievement empowers us to continue creating opportunities for discovery in music, art, science, and technology, strengthening our impact on the community we cherish.
