Hope you had a wonderful 4th of July weekend! We know summer is a busy time of year, so thank you for taking a few minutes to catch up on this month's news from YOUR Community Foundation. For good. For ever. For DeKalb County.
New Fund Announced in Memory of Sycamore Native Gina M. Delmont
Together with the Delmont family, we are honored to announce the Gina M. Delmont Memorial Scholarship Fund. Gina passed away on December 12, 2018 after a short, but courageous fight with cancer. Through this scholarship, her spirit of giving lives on and benefits a Sycamore High School graduate.
Stories of Generosity - The prompt was simple. Each person was asked to define generosity or to share a story of a time where they heard about, witnessed, or experienced generosity (giving of one’s time, talent, or treasure). Thanks for listening!
Nonprofit Day (July 24) is just a few weeks away! This valuable professional development and networking opportunity offers a keynote presentation, nine concurrent breakout sessions, networking reception, and more.
Youth Engaged in Philanthropy (YEP) kicks off their 11th year with a Meet & Greet on Sunday, August 25, from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. The Meet & Greet is a fun and easy way to learn more about the YEP committee prior to applying for membership. High school youth with a desire to make a positive impact in DeKalb County should consider attending.
Nonprofits and charitable organizations are highly encouraged to apply for a fall 2019 Community Needs Grant or Farny R. Wurlitzer Foundation Fund Grant. Application deadline is Sunday, September 1, for both grant programs.
