2019 Summer Survey: We Value Your Feedback

BOLD Applications Open for 2019-2020 Class
United Way of East Central Iowa and partners (including the Nonprofit Network) announce that the second class of the Board Orientation and Leadership Development (BOLD) program will begin this fall. The BOLD program provides participants a multi-session training series about board service.
Applications are currently open for the 2019-2020 class of BOLD participants. Please find the application here and more information about BOLD here . In the coming weeks, nonprofits will be invited to engage in the program through several channels including an update to the Volunteer Leadership Directory and BOLD events. Please watch for more information soon.
Grants Seek to Engage Youth and Reduce Violence
The Safe, Equitable, and Thriving Communities (SET) Fund at the Community Foundation will make its second round of grants this fall, and the aim is to improve community safety. The SET Fund, which was established in the fall of 2018 by the City of Cedar Rapids, Linn County, and the Cedar Rapids Community School District, grew from the recommendations of the SET Task Force in a 2017 report. Click here for an update on the first round of SET Fund grants awarded in April.
Fall grant applications are due on October 10, 2019 at 4:30 p.m. CST. A series of three planning sessions will be held prior to the grant deadline to help foster learning and collaborative efforts between public, private, grassroots, and nonprofit organizations. AFP Seeks Nominations for 2019 National Philanthropy Day
Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Eastern Iowa is accepting nominations for 2019 National Philanthropy Day donor recognition. To view the award categories and nomination details, visit here . Nominations are due August 1, 2019. Recipients will be honored at the National Philanthropy Luncheon on Tuesday, November 12, 2019, at the Cedar Rapids Marriott Hotel.

New Leader Manufacturing Announces 380 Spreading Good Program
New Leader Manufacturing has announced a 380 Spreading Good program to celebrate its 80 years in business. The company is accepting applications for funding via the website here until July 7, 2019.

211 Iowa Coalition Launches a Free App to Connect Iowans to Help
United Way of East Central Iowa has announced that a coalition of 211 Iowa partners have developed a free 211 Iowa app to provide up-to-date information on local health and human services for anyone in Iowa seeking help. The 211 Iowa app provides credible, current information about services in our area. The is a free resource for individuals to access the help they need. NewBo City Market Invites Nonprofits To Attend Rock the Block Events This Summer
NewBo City Market invites area nonprofit organizations to have a booth space at the Rock the Block concert series each Friday this summer to reach the hundreds of patrons who attend. The cost is $5 and you can sign up for space here .
Training Opportunities
The Nonprofit Network invites local nonprofit professionals to participate in monthly peer learning and networking groups. Peer groups are open to those currently working for a nonprofit organization. Peer groups are not designed for job seekers, students, or vendors (unless noted).
Please email Carrie Walker if you would like to receive monthly email invitations for a specific group. An RSVP is necessary so we can order your free lunch.
