More About PMADs
Mark Your Calendars for Our First Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorder's (PMAD) Training that will be Open to MCH members
September 12th, 2017 at 1PM with Southern Nevada Health District

This program is designed for community stakeholders to offer education and resources, promote services, and to raise awareness about PMADs. Perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (or PMADs) encompass a range of mental health disorders including depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorders that occur during pregnancy or up to two years postpartum.

Take part in the first PMADs training that is open to all MCH members. If you work with future moms or new moms, this program is for you. Training is the first step that we can take to further provide support for moms with depression and anxiety in hopes of lessening the impact on mom's, babies, and families. Did you know PMADs are the leading complication of childbirth affecting 1 in 7 women?

If your organization is interested in participating in a training on a day other than the above date, you are more than welcome to fill out our  request form!
Inside the 'Hidden Disorder' New Moms are Afraid to Talk About

Huffpost recently released an article speaking on PMADs and the crippling effects it has on new moms. Learn more about these disorders that tend to be swept under the rug as general anxiety and the stress of being a new mom. They talk to moms that have dealt with PMADs as they discuss the thoughts and emotions that they have felt. With more light being brought to Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders, the easier it will become to openly talk about with new parents.
