Jason Horton Receives Honorary ESPY
We are extremely proud and honored to announce that Special Olympics Colorado  athlete Jason Horton has received a 2017 Honorary ESPY Award On July 12, Eunice Kennedy Shriver, Special Olympics  Founder, was honored with the prestigious Arthur Ashe Courage Award during the televised ESPY Awards . As part of her legacy, Jason has received an Honorary ESPY Award. Jason has been a Special Olympics Colorado athlete for 4 years and competes in flag football, softball and soccer. He is also a member of the Colorado Rapids  Unified Soccer Team. Jason is currently battling his 4th round of cancer and we wish him the best in his recovery.

Special Olympics Colorado Staff Spotlight
Jeff Franklyn
Northeast Regional Manager
Jeff Franklyn is the Northeast Regional Manager at Special Olympics Colorado. He supports 700  athletes and their families, unified partners, coaches and over 500 volunteers throughout 20 competitions during the year. Jeff implemented the Special Olympics College Program at University of Northern Colorado and Colorado State University where students with and without intellectual disabilities participate in unified competitions and fundraising events. Jeff started his career at Special Olympics Michigan 10 years ago and joined Special Olympics Colorado in 2015. He is an avid  traveler, foodie and loves working out. Opening Eyes Clinical Director Needed
Special Olympics Colorado looking for an Optometrist or Ophthalmologist to become an Opening Eyes Volunteer Clinical Director. Our Opening Eyes Program offers free vision screenings and education to Special Olympics Colorado athletes and unified partners. Athletes Head to Chicago for MLS All-Star Game
Special Olympics Colorado Unified Teammates Colton Rice and Alie Goldblatt will be traveling to Chicago for the Special Olympics Unified Sports All-Star Soccer Match on August 1. Alie and Colton are members of the  Special Olympics Colorado Rapids Unified Soccer Team and will compete in an East vs West All-Star Match with other MLS Unified Teams across the United States.
