Restaurant Week

Support Local, Build Culture: San Leandro Restaurant Week July 13–19!

San Leandro’s 3rd Annual Restaurant Week is here—and it’s the perfect opportunity to support local businesses and treat your team to something fun and flavorful.

From July 13–19, restaurants, cafés, bakeries, and breweries across San Leandro will be offering limited-time specials to showcase what makes our city’s food scene so unique. It’s an excellent reason to break up the workday and head out to lunch with co-workers, plan a team outing, or even treat staff to a meal while exploring new spots in town.

Plus, there’s a little bonus: patrons who join the fun through the Goosechase app can complete simple challenges for a chance to win reimbursement for their dining receipts!

We encourage you to:

  • Share the event with your employees
  • Plan lunch outings with your team
  • Highlight your favorite stops on social media
  • Join in the fun by participating in the Goosechase challenge

Let’s celebrate San Leandro’s vibrant food community together. A strong local economy starts with us!

Advocacy

City Leadership Must Prioritize Business Voices

As the city works through major decisions about infrastructure, public safety, and community priorities, one pattern continues to raise concern:

City Council discussions are dominated by a handful of residents or advocates whose priorities, while well-intentioned, are not the same as the daily challenges faced by our business community.

While resident voices matter, businesses generate the tax base, create jobs, and anchor our local economy. You deserve to be heard—and respected—as equal partners in shaping the city’s future.

Meanwhile, serious issues that impact economic health and quality of life go under-addressed:

  • Persistent public safety concerns, including property crime and homeless encampments
  • Unmanaged homeless RV encampments, especially near commercial corridors
  • Trash, vandalism, and lack of enforcement that make our business districts less welcoming
  • Delayed infrastructure improvements that affect everything from deliveries to customer access

These aren’t abstract problems—they affect revenue, jobs, investment, and our ability to attract and retain a strong workforce.

We are calling on city leadership to give equal weight to the voices of those who:

  • Create jobs
  • Generate tax revenue
  • Invest in our community for the long term

We urge the City Council to:

  • Prioritize clean, safe, and accessible commercial areas in all city planning
  • Balance compassion with accountability and enforcement in addressing homelessness and blight
  • Include the business community early and often in discussions around citywide priorities

Why This Matters

A vibrant local economy depends on more than vision—it requires a clear-eyed, pragmatic approach to daily realities. That means listening to business owners and property managers who deal with the consequences of inaction every day.

We’re asking our members to stay engaged. Speak up. Share your experiences. Send an email to us and the city council. Attend a city council meeting with the SLCC.

Together, we can advocate for a city that’s safe, functional, and prosperous for everyone.

Join the Chamber

Support Your Chamber. Strengthen Your Community.

At the San Leandro Chamber of Commerce, our mission is to support and advocate for the businesses that make our community vibrant and thriving. While we recognize and value the contributions of all businesses in our area, we are fundamentally a membership-based organization.

If you’re already a member—thank you! If not, we encourage you to:

  • Join the Chamber here.
  • Invite your neighboring businesses to join
  • Recommend membership to your favorite local businesses
  • Encourage your vendors and business partners to become members

Membership matters. It ensures we can continue offering high-impact programs, meaningful advocacy, and support what drives local business success. When requests come our way—whether for letters of support, partnerships, or access to initiatives—our priority must be the businesses who have chosen to invest in our shared mission.

If workforce development, economic vitality, and a strong local business ecosystem are important to you, then now is the time to get involved. As a member, you’ll join a network of forward-thinking business leaders committed to shaping a stronger future for us all.

Let’s build a thriving community—together.

Have a Non-Emergency Concern in San Leandro?

To submit non-emergency requests—like loitering, abandoned property, or general maintenance—through the City’s online platform: Report a Concern. You can also share this link with others. It’s the most efficient way to alert all the appropriate City departments so they can respond accordingly.

For emergencies or criminal activity, including trespassing, break-ins, property damage, violent or threatening behavior, illegal activity, public indecency, or safety violations, please contact the San Leandro Police Department:

  • Dial 911 for emergencies (e.g., someone is hurt, there’s a fire, or a crime is in progress such as theft, robbery, or burglary, or if you see someone hurting someone else, such as a physical fight, domestic violence, or an assault).
  • Call (510) 577-2740 for non-emergency situations.
  • Or submit a report online: File a Police Report here.

Let’s keep our community safe and responsive!
