Scam Alert: Beware of Notifications Showing up in your Mailbox
A postcard stating ‘final notice’ of a package shipment ended up in the mailbox of a Lakeway MUD customer this past week. When the recipient called the number, they were told the company had been hired by the City of Lakeway to test their water. The 'company' offered to give a $25 gift card if the homeowner would allow them to come into their home and conduct the test. The customer hung up and called Lakeway MUD to verify the information, which ended up being untrue.

If you receive something similar in the mail, please be cautious. There is no outside company hired to do water testing for the City of Lakeway or Lakeway MUD. If you receive one of these notices, please contact the City of Lakeway or Lakeway MUD immediately. Always be cautious if anyone asks to enter your home and verify the source beforehand. If you have any concerns or feel threatened by someone wanting to enter your home, contact the local police department.
