We have an exciting issue this month with a large number of grants to announce. Thank you to the many generous donors whose gifts make grants like these possible. For good. For ever. For DeKalb County.

Thank you to First Midwest Bank for their generous $25,000 donation to the DeKalb County COVID-19 Response Fund . We greatly appreciate their ongoing support of needs in the community.

Over the last few months, we've received a variety of donations for the DeKalb County COVID-19 Fund. Thank you to each of these donors for giving in response to an immediate and ongoing need in the community. Together, we can make a positive impact throughout DeKalb County.

Over $1.2 Million Distributed for Give DeKalb County 2020
As final numbers are announced and grants distributed, this year's Give DeKalb County event has reached all-time highs in terms of total donors, total donations, number of participating organizations, grand total, and other categories.

Thank you to every donor, Community Partner, Media Sponsor, and participating nonprofit organization for making Give DeKalb County 2020 a great success! 

Wiemer-Hastings Receives Palmer Family Music Education Scholarship
Congratulations to Jesse Wiemer-Hastings of DeKalb High School , recipient of the 2020 Palmer Family Music Education Scholarship award. Jesse plans to attend St. Olaf College in the fall, pursuing a degree in music education.

Thank you to the Palmer Family for their generosity in making this annual scholarship possible!

$12,583 Awarded in Youth Impact Grants
Youth Engaged in Philanthropy (YEP) is pleased to announce their distribution of $12,583 in youth impact grants. Grants were awarded to nine community organizations for a variety of youth serving projects and programs in DeKalb County

Recognizing Local Educators
We are excited to announce this year’s Excellence in Education Award recipients from Hiawatha and Sycamore school districts ! Excellence in Education Awards recognize teachers, administrators, and support staff who have inspired a love of learning in students and play an active role in their schools and communities in DeKalb County.

Master’s Degree and Adult Education Scholarships Available
Deadline to apply is June 28, 2020. 
  • Renaissance Scholarship - A $1,000 scholarship available for students who were a part of the workforce and are seeking an undergraduate degree.
  • Spinoso Masters Scholarship - Worth up to $10,000, these scholarships are for students pursuing a Masters level or post-undergraduate education.
