Stage 3 Watering Restrictions in Effect
Monday, June 1, 2026
| | |
Effective June 1, 2026, outdoor water conservation measures increase to Stage 3. All indications are that Vancouver Island is dealing with a heightened risk of drought as we move into Summer 2026.
Under Stage 3, outdoor watering is restricted as follows:
- Even-numbered addresses may sprinkle only on even-numbered calendar days
- Odd-numbered addresses may sprinkle only on odd-numbered calendar days
- Sprinkling is permitted for a maximum of two hours per day, either between 7am-10am, or between 7pm-10pm.
- Vegetable gardens and drip irrigation systems are exempt from these restrictions
- In addition, residents are asked to further reduce water use on a voluntary basis. For example, you could sustain from sprinkling your lawn completely.
Over the last several years when we have moved from Stage 2 to Stage 3 restrictions, we have not seen any real reduction of consumption by residents voluntarily. The District is asking users to reduce their outdoor watering as much as possible to conserve for the expected hot and dry summer season.
Please do your part to proactively conserve water. The District of Lantzville will be monitoring watering restrictions and working with residents to ensure compliance.
See our watering restrictions page for the latest information.
| Second Quarter Water Meter Readings | | |
We will begin reading water meters for second quarter in the last two weeks of June. Please make sure your meter is exposed and accessible.
Second quarter utility bills will be issued in mid-July.
