Small Business Day on Beacon Hill

Chamber President Tom O'Rourke attended Small Business Day on Beacon Hill this month along with about 200 small business owners and employer organizations. Guests were briefed on a number of issues impacting small business including health care costs, the rising cost of doing business in the state, phasing out of tipped wages for service workers, unemployment insurance and more.

Several legislators addressed the audience including Representative Paul McMurtry from Dedham (below right) who chairs the Joint Committee on Community Development and Small Business.

As the cost of doing business continues in the Commonwealth continues to escalate it is imperative that the voice of the small business, and those that they employ and serve, is consistently heard on Beacon Hill.
