Your EMR and Data Sharing
Your practice received a survey about your EMR and data sharing capabilities on June 21, 2022. Permitting MSHP access to your EMR will help MSHP get a more comprehensive picture of how your practice is performing, reducing the need for us to request chart documentation on quality measures. This data will supplement claims data we receive from payers on your attributed patients. Please complete this survey by July 12, 2022.

View the recording from our May 17th Event, Excellence in Polychronic Disease Management on CILC (log in required). Experts from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, Drs. Shirley Chen, Khadeen Cheesman, Noah Moss, and Joji Tokita facilitate a discussion of a case focused on managing multiple chronic conditions.
During this session, viewers will learn assessment steps to identify a polychronic disease state patient, disease management topics for patients with two or more chronic conditions, and when to refer patients to a specialist or care management.

Global Contrast Shortage
The Food and Drug Administration is reporting shortages of GE Healthcare's iohexol and iodixanol intraveneous contrast media products for computed tomography imaging related to the COVID-19 lockdown which temporarily shut down GE’s production facility for iodinated contrast media in Shanghai, China. GE Healthcare said it was rationing orders for its iohexol products. GE Healthcare sales represent about one-third of the global market for contrast agent.
Learn more about the Mount Sinai Health System strategy for navigating the contrast dye shortage.
Community physicians, please reach out to the radiologist directly at the facility you are requesting imaging, for contrast availability and guidance on alternatives in select cases.

Board Bulletin
MSHP Board of Managers Spotlight: Dr. Alysa Frenkel
Meet our Mount Sinai Health Partners’ Board Member, Alysa Frenkel, MD. Dr. Frenkel is a pediatrician at Kindercare Pediatrics LLP and has served on MSHP’s board for one year. We recently caught up with Dr. Frenkel to learn more about her as an MSHP Board member!
What do you like most about serving on MSHP’s Board of Managers?
Serving on the MSHP board has allowed me to understand the nuts and bolts of how the Clinical Integration Network (CIN) works. My involvement on the Clinical Integration and Oversight Committee has allowed me to give valued feedback about programs before they are implemented.
What do you hope to accomplish while serving on MSHP's Board of Managers?
I have been a community pediatrician in Williamsburg, Brooklyn for 17 years. I work primarily with the Chasidic community, a community which has a rich culture and strong traditions. I am learning how to frame healthcare in a way that will be embraced by the community and empower them to make good health care decisions for their families. My goal is to share this experience as well as the challenges community physicians face in providing care.
What are your interests/hobbies outside of work?
Community is important to me, in not only my professional life but my personal life as well. I serve on the board of my synagogue, Young Israel of Holliswood, and chair many committees. I chair the adult education committee, which organizes educational programs for the community, and co-chair a committee geared towards helping people who are in need. This committee was especially active during the past couple of years. We organized weekly phone calls to check in on individual community members and assisted the elderly and medically fragile with errands such as food shopping and obtaining medicine from their pharmacies. I serve on the medical advisory committee as well.
I am an avid walker and devotee of fitness classes at my local gym. My greatest pride are my three boys, my oldest is graduating high school this year.
We look forward to Dr. Frenkel continuing to serve on MSHP’s Board of Managers!
