Job Development Investment Grant (JDIG)

Did you know: The Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina (EDPNC) recruits new businesses to NC, supports existing businesses, connects exporters with customers globally, and helps small business owners get their start.

The EDPNC offers a Job Development Investment Grant (JDIG), a performance-based, discretionary incentive program that provides cash grants directly to new and expanding companies.

Although your project must meet certain criteria to be considered for a JDIG, there are no restrictions on the use of JDIG funds. Your company can use the funds for any purpose.

GOOGLE Women Techmakers

Last month we told you about the MAKERS series TechMAKERS .

This month we're here to tell you about GOOGLE Women Techmakers .

Women Techmakers programs provide visibility, community, and resources for women in technology globally. Participate and spread the word!

Resources include Scholars Program ( working to further gender equality in the field of computer science) ; Women Techmakers Meetups (learn about new tools and services while connecting with other women in technology); Udacity Scholarships (fully funded scholarships for a year of access to one of four technical online degree programs from Udacity).

Women Techmakers Communities

The Salisbury Business Center is pleased to be hosting a new art exhibition featuring artists from six years of the CHICKWEED ~ Celebrating Indestructible Women annual arts and cultural event. The exhibit, ‘Woman Phenomenally, Phenomenal Woman’ , will run from June 8 ^th through August 24 ^th , 2018 and is available to the public from Monday – Friday 8:00am-5:00pm.

Meet the artists at the ‘Woman Phenomenally, Phenomenal Woman’ Opening Reception Friday June 8, 2018 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm. The event and exhibit are FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.

WOMAN PHENOMENALLY

'Woman Phenomenally, Phenomenal Woman' is part of the ongoing Salisbury Business Center Art Partnerships Gallery Exhibits program, wherein gallery space is provided to local artists in order to promote our area artists and to increase art appreciation within the community.

SKILLS TRAINING AVAILABLE

Goodwill offers a variety of skills training classes in partnership with area community colleges . These classes teach the skills necessary for jobs in specific fields such as healthcare, skilled trades, office technology and service industries. Many classes enable students to progress along a career track such as Certified Nursing Level I, Certified Nursing Level II and Medication Technician.

Pops at the Post: Saturday June 2nd

The evening we all wait for! The Symphony at Pops at the Post!

The first Pops at the Post was hosted in 2005 for the Salisbury Post’s centennial. June 2nd marks the 13th annual Pops at the Post, held at the Salisbury Post loading dock near the intersection of Church Street and W. Innes Street in downtown Salisbury..

Pops at the Post is a free community event, featuring the Salisbury-Rowan Symphony, led by Maestro David Hagy, held the first Saturday in June each year.
