WBJC's monthly newsletter to keep you informed about programming highlights, upcoming local events and general station news.

Are you waiting for the perfect time to make a donation to your Classical Music station?

 Well this is it!

Our fiscal year ends on June 30, and we need to balance our budget. That's why this is the perfect time to make a gift to WBJC. So if you didn’t pledge during our last drive (or even if you did), consider how important it is to give now.

No other radio station in the Maryland-DC area brings you as much classical music as WBJC-FM.  For 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, we bring you the greatest composers and artists. That is our commitment to you. Year after year, we remain committed to bringing you classical music.

With government funding in serious doubt, it is up to you to support WBJC. Currently, 70% of our budget comes from listeners like you. We need to increase that percentage to make up for the lost funding. We take our commitment to bringing the finest in Classical Music very seriously.

We need to hear from you by June 30.  Click this link to make a secure gift on your credit card, or you can call us at 410-580-5800 and we will be happy to take your pledge.
Please don't wait, make your donation today

Word on Wine

This week Mary and I are joined by Kati Harrison who, in addition to being WBJC’s Operations Director, also happens to be my wife…and I happen to be her husband!  We figured that since I proposed on air a year ago in February (during a fundraiser) and we celebrated our real anniversary on 5/18 fundraising, (Thanks to everyone who pledged and to John Dahne and his wife for the amazing Carrot Cake!) we would share our first anniversary with Mary and the audience!

Getting a new car? “Don’t trade it, donate it!”

Before you head to the dealer, plan on donating your older vehicle to WBJC. Usually the value you'll receive for your donation will meet or exceed what the dealer will offer you as a trade-in and is fully tax-deductible.

Call 855-WBJC-CAR or donate securely online.  Click here to see how easy  it is!

It was a pleasure to speak with three curators and conservators from the Walters Art Museum – Abigail Quandt, Head of Book and Paper Conservation, Lynley Anne Herbert, Assistant Curator of Rare Books and Manuscripts, and Cathie Magee, post-graduate fellow in book conservation – about a project to conserve a manuscript of great historical significance.

Don't forget to join Jonathan Palevsky a half hour before the opera for the Opera Preview Show!
