Rain couldn’t dampen the spirits of participants in the 25th anniversary Ohio River Paddlefest on Saturday, August 1. The event achieved the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS® title for “Largest Paddle Craft Party,” recording 1,440 paddlers. What's more, the event raised $140,000 for organizer and beneficiary Adventure Crew, making it the event’s most successful year to date.

Whitney/Strong and Brothas Inc. will conclude their summer Safe & Strong: Strength in Community series on Sunday, August 30, with a youth-led community clean-up from 10:00am–12:00pm, followed by a free STOP THE BLEED® training open to the public from 12:30pm–2:00pm. The City of Cincinnati-funded series has combined paid youth community service with strengths-based prevention programming focused on belonging, positive friendships, resilience, trusted adults, and other protective factors that help young people and communities thrive.
Whitney/Strong and AmeriHealth Caritas Ohio will host a free Evanston Community Care Fair on Friday, September 18, 1:00pm–4:00pm at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 1809 Rutland Ave. Community members can connect with local organizations offering free firearm safety education and gun locks, mental wellness and recovery support, housing and healthcare resources, family-friendly activities, and other community services.
Cincinnati-based nonprofit Partnership for Innovation in Education (PIE) announced it received a combined $500,000 with Ohio’s Industry Sector Partnership (ISP) Grant Program. A total of 22 workforce partnerships across Ohio received $5,065,368.46 through the program. PIE received $250,000 from the Ohio Department of Development, with a duplicate $250,000 match made by Ohio community and industry partners.

Summerfair Cincinnati is turning its 60th anniversary into a nine-month community arts adventure. Beginning in September, the organization will launch a new “60th Quest” each month at a different Greater Cincinnati arts or cultural organization. Participants will visit the featured location, find a designated photo spot and share a selfie for a chance to win prizes. The Quest runs through May 2027, leading up to Summerfair Cincinnati’s 60th fair next summer. Interviews available.
