National Council of Nonprofits Outlines Rules for Fundraising Platforms

The National Council of Nonprofits (NCN) has issued a set of guidelines for online fundraising platforms. The guidelines stress consent from, and control by, nonprofits regarding how they are represented by the platforms. The guidelines have been endorsed by more than 50 state and regional associations.

The suggestions come in the wake of instances of platforms promoting, representing or soliciting funds on behalf of nonprofits, allegedly without the nonprofits’ consent or awareness. In some cases, these representations featured the nonprofits’ logos or other intellectual property, also allegedly without the nonprofits’ consent.

The Boone County Public Library Foundation has received a grant from The Andrew Jergens Foundation to support Storyland: A Trip Through Childhood Favorites, an interactive traveling exhibit opening August 2026 through January 3, at the Hebron Branch, 1863 North Bend Road, Hebron, KY. The 500-square-foot exhibit encourages young children and their caregivers to explore, play and learn together through hands-on experiences inspired by children's books.

Boone County Public Library has received a $1,000 grant from the Rural Technology Fund to bring hands-on STEM learning opportunities to youth at the Chapin Memorial Library in Petersburg. The Rural Technology Fund works to empower future technology leaders by narrowing the digital divide between rural and urban communities.

United Way of Greater Cincinnati is pleased to announce a nearly $12.3 million community investment in partnership with 100 local organizations. These grants are part of a broader portfolio of funding opportunities United Way offers throughout the year to support innovative partnerships, emerging needs and community-driven initiatives. World Affairs Council has received the Global Ties' Dinner Diplomacy grant for its third year. With this, they will have a booth at the Covington Farmers Market on Saturday, August 1st from 9:00am-1:00pm where community members can learn more about the dinner hosting volunteer opportunities, win fun prizes, and connect with visiting delegates.

Greater Cincinnati Foundation (GCF) and Cincinnati Scholarship Foundation (CSF) have entered into a strategic partnership designed to strengthen scholarship opportunities across the region, delivering greater impact to students, donors and the community.

Strategies to End Homelessness would like to express its gratitude to the U.S. Bank Foundation for its support of the Shelter Diversion Program. This $50,000 grant will help households at imminent risk of homelessness move into their own apartment and receive assistance with rent and utilities for 3-6 months.

The Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce (NKY Chamber) will hold its largest and most anticipated event of the year, the 2026 Annual Dinner, presented by Fifth Third Bank, on Thursday, Sept. 17, at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center in Covington. At the heart of the evening will be the presentation of awards recognizing business leaders and community champions whose impact is helping define the future of the NKY Metro region.

Pig Works, the umbrella organization of the Flying Pig Marathon, Queen Bee Half Marathon and other events, will hold the formal groundbreaking for its new Pig Works Coughlin Campus offices on Wednesday, July 29, 2:00pm, 792 E. McMillan Street.
