Same Tools, Different Look, Fully Functional on Phones and Tablets

We're about to release an exciting update to how the Pinergy homepage looks, feels, and works for you. Let's start with what won't change: All the functions you use from today's homepage, like New Contact Matches, Quick Search, and Hot Sheets will still be there, right where you left them. They will all work the same, and you'll feel right at home once you dig in. So what will be different? We've cleaned things up and made everything more attractive and easier to use. The text will be much easier to read, especially on smaller screens like phones and tablet devices. Speaking of phones, the new page looks amazing on small mobile devices thanks to its responsive design. All functions (except notices and news) will be collapsible, so you can hide the features you don't use to make more accessible the ones you do. Also, you can drag tools (called widgets) around on the page and place them where you'd like, and Pinergy will remember your preferences the next time you log in. We've enhanced and added more options for Quick Links, added an MLS PIN Resources tool, improved the look of system notifications (with less text to save on valuable display real estate), and overall modernized the design and use of it all. This is Phase One of an ongoing project to improve your Pinergy homepage experience - in the office, at home, or on the road - and we look forward to sharing it with you as soon as spring arrives. Coming Soon: Display Large Photos in Pinergy

Next week you will be able to click the main photo in a detailed listing report to view all of the listing's photos using the largest, highest-resolution images we have for the listing. Also displayed will be the MLS number, address, price, status, and photo descriptions. Clicking arrows will move you forward or backward through the photos, and you may swipe left or right to navigate using your mobile device. Older, lower-resolution listing photos will not be enlarged, but all listing photos will look the best they can when viewed in this manner.

The buyers have signed, your client's property is now off the market, and everybody is celebrating. Why wait another minute to change the listing status, when you can do it right from your phone? This just-released feature of Pinergy Mobile is simple to use: Navigate to your listing, then tap "Edit." After re-entering your password, tap "Status," "New Status," and select "Under Agreement." The rest is simply filling in the dates, sales office, and sales agent ID (which you can look up from that window). UAG status isn't the only recent improvement we've made to Pinergy Mobile: There's also the new Property History link at the bottom of all live listings, which pulls up a list of all previous MLS entries in the Pinergy system for that property, going all the way back to the early 1990's. More of our customers are starting to use Pinergy Mobile, and we'll continue to look at more ways to save you time and help you give your clients the best service possible.
Much-Awaited "Area Market Reviews" in Your Future

Which communities in your coverage area are looking up, trending down, or treading water? Pinergy's newest reports will show you at a glance. You'll find "Area Market Reviews" under Pinergy's Tools tab. Click it to have access to three report types: Year-Over-Year, Five-Year, and Quarterly. Select your report date and the state, county, town, area, or zip code you'd like to analyze. Name and save your report, or just click the "Run Report" button. There are 34 points of comparison, including average days on market, absorption rate, units listed, units price changed, units went pending, units sold, and more. The Year-Over-Year review has arrows indicating upward and downward trends, and all reviews include attractive charts that give a visual representation of key data. You will be able to save your market reviews in various formats, including PDF, Excel, and Word. Stay tuned for updates on this future release, and see if you can spot the trends that could give you an advantage.

RESO Standards Help the Real Estate Industry Share Data More Effectively

MLS PIN is pleased to announce we have renewed our RESO Data Dictionary Certification and in the process have elevated from 1.3 to a 1.4 Bronze level certification. At the same time, we are now also RESO Web API Certified. RESO certification is yearly and with each new year, we continue to map more of our data fields to the RESO Data Dictionary in an effort to achieve higher certification levels. The Data Dictionary serves as the real estate industry's "Rosetta Stone" for real estate data. More than 725 MLSs and hundreds of other technology partners gather real estate data. The Data Dictionary ensures that each system speaks the same language so the data can be shared and understood. It is the common standard that defines real estate data in consistent terms and data structures; a template data providers may follow to format their most common and important fields. Clear Up the Confusion Regarding Rental Compensation

In 2015, we added new data fields to the Rental listing form. These fields impact how you disclose information to consumers and other brokers. However, because there is some confusion, we would like to explain the fields and intended use. First, let's look at what these fields are: Listing Brokerage Fee Required From Tenant: Yes/No. A "yes" in this field discloses to cooperating agents and/or potential tenants that, in addition to any other fees such as first-month rent or security deposit, the tenant will be required to pay a fee to the listing brokerage. Power Tip
Using Public Records to Quickly Update Your Listing

When entering or editing a listing, you may click "Use this address to import listing data from Public Tax & Assessment Records" (above the listing's address) to quickly load Public Records data into the listing form for all matching data fields. This can save a lot of time and effort when entering a listing from scratch or when cloning an older listing. You still should verify the data, but you won't have to type everything yourself.

Catching Up with Claire Flynn, Membership Representative

If you've joined MLS PIN or reactivated your account anytime in the last decade (nearly 6,000 last year alone!), there's a good chance you've been helped by Claire Flynn. This September will mark Claire's 10th anniversary as Membership Representative for MLS PIN, where she takes many calls, ensures accurate paperwork is received, corresponds with offices, communicates with local Associations, and helps with leasing Supra keys and selling electronic lockboxes. Claire is super organized and customer service has always been her preferred career; prior to joining us, she spent five years in service/sales for a computer product company, and 20 years doing the same for a graphic arts company. Claire tries to make the most of every day, and when not at work, she can be found four-wheeling, boating, camping, and spending time with her family and three granddaughters.
