Did You Catch These Pinergy Updates in 2024?

Compensation Options, Mobile Offline Listings, Local Info, and Other Features You May Have Missed

As 2025 appears just around the corner, we’d like to take a brief look back at some notable updates we released to Pinergy in 2024. Compensation was a big topic. We added additional compensation fields to listings, made all compensation fields optional, and added the ability for brokers and managers to “opt out of compensation” for all listings in their offices. You now control whether compensation will be displayed on your VOW, and you can choose whether to display compensation on your IDX website and social media shares of your listings. We introduced new functionality that enables editing and posting of offline single-family, condominium, mobile home, and residential rental listings—using your smartphone. All required fields for these property types are editable in the mobile view, making it easier to manage your listings on the go. We integrated a new product from Local Logic into Pinergy and VOW, providing local demographics, commute times, household data, and information about local amenities such as schools, restaurants, and shopping. This valuable information can help you better serve your clients’ needs, and this “local information” can be included in your Contacts’ property match reports. We also integrated DepositLink with Pinergy to facilitate quick and secure real estate payments, and we increased the maximum dimensions for your listing photos to 2048 × 1536 pixels. More significant updates are scheduled for 2025 as Pinergy continues evolving to provide the functionality and tools you rely on.

Restb.ai Brings AI Tools to Pinergy Users

As a Pinergy user, you soon will have access to Restb.ai’s time-saving AI tools to streamline your listing input tasks. You will be able to upload a listing’s photos and have Restb.ai analyze them to identify what rooms are present, what interior and exterior features exist, what materials are used, and more. Restb.ai will label the photos and select identified features in the listing input form automatically, needing only manual verification once complete. How’s that for a start? You also will be able to add AI-generated human-like public remarks based on your photos and listing data, saving you both time and effort. Look for these cutting-edge additions in the first quarter of 2025 with more Restb.ai AI being introduced throughout the year!

Try These Useful Features in Pinergy’s Search Results Map

Pinergy’s interactive map can help you review and refine your search results. Select the blue Map button in Pinergy’s Search Results to display a new screen containing the map. Hovering over any property pin will show the listing’s address, and clicking the pin will preview the listing. From the preview, you can select/deselect the listing, click the photo to view hi-res listing photos, click the list number to view detail reports, and click “View Schools” to access school information. You can click the cart icon to add the listing to a listing cart, and you can click the bell icon to add the listing to your listing watch. Clicking the pushpin icon in the upper-left corner of the preview will pin/unpin the listing. Pin as many listings as you’d like, and then when you click the pushpin icon in the upper-left corner of the map, all your pinned listings will appear together. From there, you can select/deselect listings and click a list number to view detail reports for all the selected pinned listings. To see where a property is located, click “Locate on Map” to highlight its property pin on the map. You can unpin a listing by clicking the listing’s trash can icon, and you can unpin them all by selecting “Clear All” at the top of the list. And remember: The listing selections/deselections you make from the map will be reflected in your search results when you exit the map, making Pinergy’s interactive map a great tool for refining your search results.

Pinergy Tip: Get Quick Info from Price Changed (PCG) Listings

When a listing has a Price Changed (PCG) status, an arrow will be displayed next to the list price. A green “down” arrow indicates a price decrease while an orange “up” arrow indicates a price increase. Hover your pointer over the arrow to display the amount and date of the price change. Click the arrow to display the Price Change History for the listing. (On a mobile device, tap the arrow to see the listing’s price-change details.) If the list price is displayed in blue—regardless of the listing’s status—click/tap the price to reveal its Price Change History. That’s a lot of information for you, quick and easy.

Listing Multiple Lots? Here’s What to Know

Under section 1.9 of the Rules and Regulations, if you take a listing of one or more properties that can be sold separately, you should post a separate listing of each such property to Pinergy. If the listings are of new construction and you do not yet know what will be built for each property, you should post a representative sampling of available properties up front. Then, once it becomes known what will be built for a given property, you should post a listing of that property and back-date the List Date to the date it first became available for sale.

Exciting News! The Boston Globe Names MLS PIN a “Top Place to Work"

We're proud to share that MLS PIN has been recognized as one of The Boston Globe’s “Top Places to Work” in Massachusetts! This year is our first time making the list, and we are thrilled to be ranked #5 among small companies (50–99 employees) in the state. The ranking was based on feedback from 68,000 workers across hundreds of companies, focusing on key factors such as leadership, values, training, and benefits. We’ve always known our workplace is special, with employee satisfaction reflected in milestones like 5-, 10-, 15-, and 30-year anniversaries, but it’s rewarding to be officially recognized. Thank you to our incredible team for making MLS PIN such a great place to work!

Employee Spotlight

Terrence (TJ) Pellerin, Customer Care Representative

Just weeks ago, TJ Pellerin celebrated a big milestone by marking his 5th year as one of MLS PIN's Customer Care Representatives. His position involves a little bit of everything when helping our subscribersanswering technical and membership questions related to password resets, general system usage, troubleshooting web browsers, and all the miscellaneous issues our customers call and email us about daily. His calm demeanor and deep knowledge of our systems and procedures make him popular with customers and co-workers alike. Prior to joining us, TJ was a shareholder specialist at a major financial institution. When not working, you can find him pursuing creative outlets like drawing—or with his nose in a book! TJ’s favorite part of working at MLS PIN is helping subscribers creatively solve their issues, and he appreciates being part of a team that he can rely on and that relies on him. Congratulations on five years, TJ, and here’s hoping for many more to come!
