TYT NEEDS YOUR VOICE for Tacoma Creates'

Mission Critical Survey!

Tacoma Youth Theatre has received significant funding from Tacoma Creates, which helps make our programming possible.

The 0.1% sales tax that supports Tacoma Creates must be reauthorized every 7 years. State law now allows for City Councils to authorize or reauthorize a cultural access program. As Tacoma’s City Council considers the program’s first opportunity for reauthorization in early 2025, the City is seeking community input on the role and impact of Tacoma Creates funding.

A Message from Artistic Director Maggie Knott

Thank you to everyone who has supported and participated at Tacoma Youth Theatre since our re-opening this past spring! Together, we are gaining momentum, building community, and supporting the growth and learning of dozens of young actors! 

I am really proud of the accessibility that moving from audition-based to open enrollment programming has allowed. I hope that Tacoma Youth Theatre will always offer first-time young actors a joyful and nurturing beginning experience. As we move forward, I am also working to ensure that Tacoma Youth Theatre offers programs that grow with young actors and that they have opportunities to continue to advance in their exploration of the art.
