On August 20, members, volunteers, and industry leaders gathered at Finn’s Harborside for an evening that was equal parts insight, meaningful conversation, and celebration.
NAR's Dr. Jessica Lautz kicked off the evening with a compelling look at the national housing outlook, along with key Rhode Island and local housing statistics, giving attendees valuable perspective on the market and the challenges facing today’s buyers and sellers.
We then paused to celebrate our 2026 REALTOR® of the Year, recognizing an outstanding member of our profession before turning the conversation to one of Rhode Island’s most pressing issues: housing affordability.
Moderated by KWAOR President Shannon Krasnowiecki, the panel featured Deborah Goddard, Rhode Island Secretary of Housing; Michelle Bleau, Director of Real Estate Development at One Neighborhood Builders; Mike Pereira, RIAR President; and Steven Miller, KWAOR President-Elect. Their diverse perspectives sparked a thoughtful and engaging conversation about what’s standing between Rhode Islanders and affordable homes.
The evening also included a well-deserved celebration of the dedicated KWAOR volunteers whose time, talent, and commitment help keep our association moving forward.
Thank you to everyone who joined us, asked thoughtful and challenging questions, and stayed engaged throughout the evening. Your participation is what makes events like this so valuable.
And a very special thank-you to our 2026 Star Sponsors. Your generous support helps make KWAOR’s programs, events, and member experiences possible. We are grateful for your continued partnership and commitment to our REALTOR® community.
Thank you for being part of an evening that brought our members together to learn, connect, celebrate, and look ahead.
