Greetings Friends and Neighbors,

Happy Mother’s Day!

This weekend, I celebrate each of you, the mothers, grandmothers, godmothers, bonus moms, and caregivers who pour your hearts into nurturing, guiding, and inspiring those around you. Your strength, resilience, and unwavering love are the foundation of our families and the heartbeat of our community.

Whether you’re raising children, mentoring youth, or simply showing up each day with compassion and grace, please know that your role matters more than words can fully express. You are leaders, protectors, nurturers, and warriors. You carry the weight of generations and still find the courage to smile, uplift others, and keep going.

On behalf of the Village of Broadview, I honor and thank you. May your day be filled with peace, joy, and the love you so freely give to others. I see you, I value you, and I am forever grateful for the legacy you’re building—one act of love at a time.

.

With Love and Kindness,

Mayor Katrina Thompson

NOTICE TO RESIDENTS: High Grass and Weeds Enforcement Begins May 16

The Village of Broadview is committed to maintaining a clean and safe environment for all residents. In accordance with the Broadview Village Code, Code Enforcement Officers will begin issuing citations for high grass and weed violations starting Friday, May 16, 2025.

Per Section 4-4-2 of the Village Code, all weeds, grass, and other non-ornamental plant growth must be trimmed to a height not exceeding ten inches (10"). This applies to:

  • All private lots, blocks, tracts, or parcels of land.
  • Any space between the curb and sidewalk in front of the property.
  • Areas along any public street, alley, or avenue.

Any grass, weeds, or overgrowth in excess of this height is declared a public nuisance. Property owners, occupants, or agents who allow such conditions to exist may be subject to fines or penalties as outlined in Section 1-4-1 of the Broadview Municipal Code.

Let’s work together to keep Broadview beautiful and nuisance-free.

For questions or to report violations, please contact the Code Enforcement Division at 708-681-3600.

The Village of Broadview is proud to announce the adoption of its new Comprehensive Plan, a strategic roadmap designed to guide the community's growth and development over the next 20 years. This plan focuses on sustainable progress, community engagement, and shared prosperity, ensuring that Broadview continues to thrive as a vibrant, inclusive, and resilient community.

Developed in collaboration with planning consultants Teska Associates, Inc., the Comprehensive Plan was officially adopted by the Village Board in April 2025. It encompasses key areas such as land use, housing, transportation, economic development, and environmental sustainability, all tailored to reflect the unique needs and aspirations of Broadview residents.

Residents are encouraged to review the full Comprehensive Plan, which is available on the Village's official website. Your continued engagement is vital as we work together to implement the strategies outlined in this plan and shape the future of our community.

Slow down. Stop at the stop signs. Obey the law

The Broadview Police Department will be enforcing traffic safety to protect our families and neighborhoods. Our children are outside playing, riding their bikes, and walking to our parks.

Let’s keep them safe.

We all play a role in creating a safer community.
