I had the opportunity this week to dissect cow eyes, with Makenna (grade 12) assisting me throughout the process! I learned about all of the parts of the eye and their function.
Professional Skills are a Priority at MCCTC
Students in Mrs. Kolar’s Classes had the opportunity to fine-tune their professional skills by interviewing with industry professionals, and showcasing their resumes! Students at MCCTC start building their resumes in Valley STEM, and continue throughout the remainder of their time at MCCTC. Their high school experience culminates with a full career passport and portfolio they can take with them when they graduate.
Arts Academy
Cosmetology
Cosmetology students are approaching 1,500 hours. 1,500 hours is the magic number to get the opportunity to test at state boards. The Cos students are hoping to take the test in early May. We would like to highlight Senior Sarah Donell, she not only was the first to reach her hours, she is also the ARTS Academy student of the Month for March!
Culinary Arts
The Bistro at MCCTC is in full swing. If you have not tried it yet, your opportunities are running out. The Bistro will be open through the 1st week in April (Tuesday through Thursday), come and grab some lunch at our student run restaurant.

Aviation
Aviation juniors have begun their engine overhauls this past week. Students are required to identify each and every part of their engines then reassemble everything in proper working order.
Congratulations Mr. Rowe!
Aviation instructor Scott Rowe, recently received the "Impact Influencer Award" from the United States Navy. Mr. Rowe was nominated by one of his current students because of the huge impact that he continually has on every one of his students. Congratulations Mr. Rowe!!!
