Charlie Schneider

Local, State, Tribal Leaders Sign Historic Eel River Agreement

Charlie Schneider, Senior Project Manager on CalTrout’s Legal and Policy Team, worked with the Regional Partnership to ensure that PG&E’s efforts for safe removal of the Eel’s two obsolete dams include restoration. The dams have blocked access for salmon and steelhead to the Eel’s headwaters for over 100 years, and fish populations have dropped precipitously. The state has committed $18 million to the river’s restoration, however potential legal challenges persist. Charlie will fill us in on the negotiated compromise and what’s to come. Please join us and bring your questions.
