March is National Nutrition Awareness Month—a time to highlight the vital role nutrition plays in overall health and disease prevention. As osteopathic physicians, we understand that whole-person care includes empowering patients with practical, evidence-based guidance on healthy eating. From supporting cardiovascular health and managing chronic disease to promoting healthy growth and aging, sound nutrition is foundational to lifelong wellness. The MOA encourages members to use this month as an opportunity to reinforce the importance of balanced nutrition in clinical conversations and community outreach efforts across Michigan. | | CHECK OUT THESE RESOURCES TO SHARE WITH YOUR PATIENTS FROM THE ACADEMY OF NUTRITION AND DIETETICS! | | | | |

Equity, Community Health Workers, and the Quintuple Aim
The Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI, 2025) developed the Quintuple Aim as a framework to improve health system performance. Originally introduced as the Triple Aim in 2012, the framework emphasized improving population health, enhancing patient experience, and reducing per capita cost.
