Check out what one of our alums did that we are pretty sure none others have ever done before!
October 2017

We can finally turn off the AC, break out the sweaters and stop mowing the lawn-fall is here! The students at Mother Seton are back in their routine and, with some substantial renovations over the summer, enjoying a newly updated cafeteria and gym floor. And our alums continue to be busy and successful in a myriad of ways, as you can read below.

Don't forget to continue to send us your news. We love hearing about the wonderful things our alumni are doing.

Allie Oliverio '06

Congratulations and best wishes to Allie Oliverio (MSS 2006), who married Sean Fitzpatrick on December 18, 2015. Samantha Denney (MSS 2006) was the Maid of Honor and Nick Oliverio (MSS 2010) was a groomsman. Allie and Sean are currently living in Adventura, Florida, where she is getting her masters in Physician Assistant Studies. Allie will complete her studies next month and the couple will be returning to Frederick County.

Edison Hatter and Jude O'Donnell '14

It's Academic!--- at least for Edison Hatter and Jude O'Donnell, both MSS Class of 2014. As part of Catoctin High's three person team, Edison and Jude successfully routed the competition in the first round of the classic quiz show, held September 16th at the WJZ-Channel 13 studios in Baltimore. The show aired on WJZ on October 21st, at 10:00 am. Edison and Jude's team has now advanced to the playoffs, which will take place on January 27, 2018. Congratulations to you both, and good luck with the next round!
Eric Wivell '77, Jennifer Wivell '07, Robin Wivell '09

In 2017, life has been full of happy milestones for Eric (MSS 1977) and Annette (current staff) Wivell. The year started off with Eric and Annette attending the Armed Services Ball as part of the Inauguration festivities. Eric is a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Army reserve and has a remarkable 35 years of Active and Reserve Duty service combined. On May 23, Eric and Annette celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary.

May also saw son Robin (MSS 2009) graduating from American University with a BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Business Entertainment. He is currently working in Los Angeles.

The family hardly had time to catch their breath before daughter Jennifer (MSS 2007) married Brian Parkhurst on June 23 at St. Anthony's Shrine, Emmitsburg.
Congratulations to all the family on these joyful events!

Hannah Hartness '15

Hannah Hartness (MSS 2015) was awarded the Grand Champion Tom Turkey prize at this year's Great Frederick Fair. Hannah, a senior at Catoctin High and a member of the school's FFA (Future Farmers of America), has raised her prize-winning turkey since he was two days old, and clearly has done an excellent job. Good work, Hannah!

Tommy Laudani '14

As many of you know, Tommy Laudani (MSS 2014)  has been dealing courageously with an aggressive cancer. A senior at Delone Catholic, Tommy has shown strength and determination in the face of a difficult diagnosis. Tommy recently ran three 5K races for Delone and was part of the school's Homecoming Court. His remarkable accomplishment was chronicled in September in Runner's World magazine, as well as The Evening Sun, part of the USA Today network. In addition, in conjunction with the Make a Wish Foundation, Tommy and his family took a trip to Panama. Not only did they enjoy snorkeling, kayaking and sightseeing, but Tommy met with some scientists from the Smithsonian. In what has to be a first for an MSS alum, Tommy has had a newly-discovered bug named after him, the Sceloenopls Thomasi. Tommy, we continue to keep you and your family in our prayers!

10th Annual 'Angels Above' Alumni Golf Tournament

Thanks to all who participated in the annual 'Angels Above' Alumni Golf Tournament on October 6, organized and sponsored by the members of the Jack and Shirley Little Family. Since its inception, the tournament has raised over $93,000 to fund the Jack and Shirley Little Scholarship.

This year was the biggest event to date! We are so excited for the check presentation at the annual Christmas Program on Dec. 18 to find out how much will be added to the scholarship! The students and staff at Mother Seton are so grateful to the Little Family for their continuing support.
We prayerfully remember the following
