Why We Make Mistakeƨ
Reverend Scott McNeill
Years ago, I came across a line in an article in the Friends' Journal (the Quaker equivalent of the UU World), "How silent the woods would be if only the best birds sang." We'll explore the ways we take risks and the ways we choose to play it safe--or so we think.

This Sunday in Religious Education: Risk
"Yes, I Can!" Day--we will offer ways for children in preschool-8th grade to make an impact in our world through living out our UU principles in their own lives. Activities will include a game on immigration awareness, planting for our church gardens, and postcards to our senators. Our high school youth group will have a chocolate day.
Religious Education Children's Book Drive
To live out our Yellow UU Promise: Yearn to Learn and Accept One Another, the children are collecting gently used children's books to be offered in the jail waiting room. Please bring any books that are gathering dust at your house to the Children's Library (near the end of the upstairs hallway) before March 19.

We Are Now a Sanctuary Congregation
This past Thursday (March 9), the members of the UU Church of Bloomington gathered for a special congregational meeting and vote on the issue of becoming a "Sanctuary Congregation." Following 45 minutes of discussion, members voted 167-0 to become a "Sanctuary Congregation." This means we are prepared, under the right circumstances, to house an individual who is facing deportation. The church will continue our education about immigration issues; and, we will keep the congregation informed as we continue down this path with others in the Bloomington community. Thank you everyone who participated in the process!

Unknown Cars in Our Parking Lot
Please do not leave your car in our parking lot overnight without asking, as our policy is to report unknown vehicles to local law enforcement in order to identify the owner. If you need to leave your car here to carpool or even overnight for some reason, please contact Carol Marks, Church Administrator, 812-332-3695 or
admin@uubloomington.org
to let her know.
