It's March and hopefully one or more of your New Year's resolutions are underway! Perhaps one of your resolutions is to further your professional development. One way our AFP Chapter encourages professional development is by becoming a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE).
The CFRE credential demonstrates an individual's mastery of the standards set for core knowledge and skills required of fundraising executives after three years of professional experience. This practice-based designation requires demonstration of having met certain standards through both an application and a written examination. It provides you with a recognizable demonstration of your personal and professional achievement and commitment. I am happy to report our Eastern OK Chapter currently has 22 professionals that hold this certification.
Our Small Group Networking Series is a member benefit that connects you with chapter members discussing fundraising and nonprofit management topics that are relevant to you. These meetings take place in members' homes or a local hot spot. Light refreshments will be provided.
Did you know that you can begin the CFRE application process with as little as 3 years of fundraising experience?Find out if you are ready to begin your application. Please remember that the application deadline is April 5th, 2018 for the second testing period of April 15th through June 15th, 2018. If your application has already been accepted, the second testing period of 2018 is April 15th through June 15th, 2018.
Did you know that our chapter has 22 CFRE members? This month's CFRE highlight is from Allison Walden, Senior Vice President of Resource at The Tulsa Regional Chamber of Commerce. Allison says, "I wanted to stand out among fundraisers as one committed to the profession through personal development, continuing education and best practices."
Have you taken the CFRE Survey?
If you meet the CFRE certification requirement - 3 years of full-time or half-time experience as a paid, professional fundraiser during the most recent five (5) years - but have not taken the exam? Please take this 5-minute, 10-question survey.
Our chapter is dedicated to growing professionals in the nonprofit and fundraising sector. If you are interested in learning more or applying for a Membership Scholarship, you can find the requirements here.
