MSA Student Council Travel Award Opportunity

In partnership with MSA, the MSA Student Council has launched a new Strategic Initiative to fund student travel to Local Affiliated Society meetings or other microscopy-related workshops outside of our annual Microscopy and Microanalysis conference. The goal of this new initiative is to provide students with more opportunities to engage with the broader MSA community year round as well as to make more students aware of ongoing opportunities for professional development that are offered through the Student Council.

This funding is designed especially to assist students from traditionally underrepresented or underserved communities or those with demonstrated financial need; however, the only formal requirement for funding eligibility is to be a registered student member of MSA, and all students are welcomed and encouraged to apply.

Awards include up to $500 to attend microscopy conferences and up to $2,500 to attend technical workshops/courses.

For more information and how to apply, please email [email protected].

What skills do you need for career development/advancement?

The Microscopy Society of America (MSA) has established an E-learning Task Force to identify how MSA can develop their online learning space to better serve our members and carry out the organization’s mission. As such, we are collecting information from trainees on what technical skills they may need to develop or advance their career beyond graduate school.
