Love INC Connection
March 2017
Volume 3

Spring is in the air and that gets me thinking about renewal.  The grass gets green so quickly in Minnesota, the flowers bloom, babies are born, and we all tend to feel refreshed. It is a great time of year to think about renewing ourselves mentally, physically, and spiritually.

The mission of Love INC is to mobilize the church to transform lives and communities in the Name of Christ. Romans 12:2 ties transformation and renewal together beautifully: “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” We can be transformed by renewing our minds! We can break out of the pattern of this world, whether it’s the pattern of our own habits that sometimes stops us from enjoying the peace and joy that we are offered in Jesus, or the pattern of living in poverty that a Love INC neighbor in need may be trapped in. That sounds like transformation to me.

Each day we are given an opportunity to help someone take steps in transforming their lives. Our Clearinghouse  volunteers share stories with me of amazing ways that God is providing renewal to neighbors in challenging situations. We continue to hear stories of families’ renewal beginning with receiving a bed from FurniShare for their child to sleep securely in.

These are examples of transformation and renewal that make serving at Love In the Name of Christ worth the time and energy it requires. These are examples of how an investment in Love INC can transform one of our neighbor’s lives.

As spring brings renewal to Carver County, please join us in our continued joyful effort to bring transformation to our neighbors who need a hand up.

God Bless,

Ken

Welcome to Jayne Kane, our New Clearinghouse Coordinator!

Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Jayne Kane, our new clearinghouse coordinator! Jayne started at Love INC on March 6th and has hit the ground running. Drawing from her experience as a physical therapy assistant and life coach, she's quickly learning the ins and outs of the clearinghouse and  getting to know our clearinghouse volunteers. Jayne was one of the original Ministry Leaders when Love INC started ten years ago, so it's fun to have her re-join us in a different capacity.

Stop by the office, say "Hi!" to Jayne, and give her a big Love INC welcome!

We're looking for a few compassionate volunteers to help in our Clearinghouse

We are looking for volunteers to help in our Clearinghouse. Volunteers answer telephone requests for help, assess and analyze the client's needs, and then make appropriate referrals to the various Love INC ministries and partner organizations.

You must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, agree with the Apostle's Creed, and be available to commit to one 2.5 hour shift each week. The ability to speak Spanish is a plus, but not required.

If you are interested, please complete our Clearinghouse Volunteer application
