Alumni Winter Warm-Up
On February 22, 2020, The Friends of Chabot College hosted the Alumni Winter Warm-Up at Drake's Barrel House in San Leandro.

Thank you so much to the 50+ Alumni and Friends (and canines) who joined us for an afternoon of touring the brewery, networking, games, food, beer, and fun. We had a blast connecting with Alumni across the generations.

A special shout out goes to our Alumni-Style Bingo winners:

We are so grateful to the many people who helped make this event a hit. Thank you to:

  • The entire team at Drake's Barrel House for extraordinarily insightful, engaging tours and helping us feel so welcomed.
  • Chabot TV for expertly capturing this special event.
  • Gabriel Chaparro for mentoring the Alumni Planning Team and helping us hone in on our creative spirit.
  • Aubrie Ross for superb support through every step of the planning process.
  • Alumni event helpers - Amanda, Peggy, Shanya, Patrick, and Ying - for making set-up a breeze and connecting all generations of Alumni by facilitating tours and games.
  • The Alumni Planning Team - Anamarie, Lisa, Nicole, Rachel, Victoria, and Yvonne - for coordinating every detail of the event.
  • All of our attendees for filling the brewery with joy.

The focus of this conference is to get more womxn of color in the tech industry, but even more specifically to highlight the variety of careers in tech for non-tech backgrounds . That’s right! You can be an English major, and still work in tech! Majoring in fashion or art? There’s place for you in tech! Majoring in Economics and/or finance? There’s a place for you in tech!

Looking for assistance to prepare your 2019-2020 taxes? The Alameda County Social Services Agency is providing no cost tax preparation to low-income families and individuals. See below for details.
