Rose Jones, Ph.D. has joined TTF as the Research Innovation and
Impact Strategist for the Southwestern Medical District project. She will be working with our team on various aspects of the SWMD project, including health research and environmental health studies.
Rose has a Ph.D. in Medical Anthropology from Southern Methodist University and extensive experience in academic and applied research. Dr. Jones has held teaching and research positions at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Parkland Health and Hospital System, Children’s Health at Dallas, and Southern Methodist University. Her areas of expertise include research strategy, evidence-based solutions, urban disparities, epidemiology, environmental health, community medicine, and pediatric trauma.

Dr. Jones has conducted research in diverse settings, including Mexico, Jamaica, St. Lucia, Barbados, Native America, and throughout the DFW Metroplex. She has numerous publications in peer-review journals on topics ranging from climate change to medical education and public health. Dr. Jones has also earned multiple awards and grants. Her research has been funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Sciences, the United Way, the U.S. Public Health Service, and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
Dr. Jones has earned local and national awards for teaching and research excellence. She is most proud of the pro-bono work she currently does with 2nd year law students in the Children’s Advocacy Clinic at SMU Law School. Dr. Jones is a dedicated yogi, a live music enthusiast, and a fledgling gardener.
