President’s note:

I am mentioning this again as it is a BIG issue. Your disputes cost the chapter everyone’s funds. All Event or League Play registration credit card charges will appear on your credit card statement as:

CPP*SOUTHWEST FLORIDA

When a Member disputes' a registration charge, the Chapter is charged a $25 fee for each disputed transaction. Some people have made more than one dispute.

Winter Leagues will continue through April, but check with your Tee Captains to see when your league will end.

Thanks to all the SWFL members who travelled to Clewiston for the Sugar Bowl competition among other Chapters. Although we did not return with the trophy, we had a great time catching up with friends and competing against some good golfers!

The board is working on the calendar for Summer Leagues and the Chapter Championship so keep checking the Events Calendar for updates.

Sugar Bowl 2025

We like to give a huge shoutout to all the players from the SWFL Chapter who showed amazing dedication by getting up early on a Saturday and traveling to support this year's Sugar Bowl. The Clewiston Golf Course was in good shape with fantastic weather, refreshing breeze, and tricky greens. Meeting Nancy Oliver, who founded the EWG in 1991, pleasantly surprised us all. As always, it was fun to catch up with our golf buddies at this annual event!

Eighty golfers from the SWFL, Palm Beach, Miami, Ft Lauderdale, Treasure Coast, and Lee Charlotte chapters took part in an exciting two-person scramble format. In a nail-biting finish to crown the overall Sugar Bowl Champion, the combined lowest six net scores per team were tallied.

The competition was fierce, at the end the Palm Beach Chapter Chicklets clinched victory by just one stroke with a total score of 441, edging out the Treasure Coast/Miami Honey Bees teams at 442. Other team scores: Lee Charlotte Flamingo Flyers 444, SWFL Skittles 445 and Ft Lauderdale Fireballs 457

A huge shoutout to Michelle Mehan from the Palm Beach Chapter for organizing the event and handling all financial matters, to our Clewiston members for a smooth check-in, the Clewiston Country Club for hosting and Robbie Rush for scoring.

There were multiple score card play offs to determine the individual team winners in both flights.

Congrats to Sue Aborn and Tracey Maranto for their 3rd place gross in the 2nd flight.

Mark your calendar. Next year's Sugar Bowl is set for 2/21/26.
