Tall Grass Liquor
1410 Boyer Drive, Marshall, MN
Patrón tequila is handcrafted using the same small-batch process that it has used since it was first developed. Key differences in its production process create its unique house style and consistent high quality. Patrón is distilled in small batches, using only copper pot stills to make a smoother-tasting tequila. Patrón works with the best agave growers in Jalisco, Mexico, to ensure that only the finest Weber blue agave is hand-selected from each field. This selection process allows for consistently high quality agaves.

Press Release:
The Minnesota Historical Society (MNHS) is pleased to announce the newest recipients of 45 Minnesota Historical and Cultural Heritage Large Grants ($10,000 and more), totaling $6,691,191 in 23 counties.
Large grants are awarded annually to help nonprofits, educational organizations, government units, and federally recognized tribes to preserve and share Minnesota history. This cycle of awards was approved by the MNHS Executive Council on December 14, 2023.
Minnesota Historical and Cultural Heritage Grants are made possible by the Legacy Amendment's Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund through the vote of Minnesotans on Nov. 4, 2008. The Legacy Amendment supports efforts to preserve Minnesota land, water, and legacy, including Minnesota history and cultural heritage.
Lyon County Historical Society, Marshall, $141,000
To improve collections care and management through proper storage.
The Lyon County Historical Society (LCHS) is pleased to accept this grant of $141,000 for improving collections care and management through proper storage. This grant will go towards the implementation of a compact storage system in the basement storage room of the Lyon County Museum located at 301 W Lyon St in Marshall. Compact storage is a mobile shelving system in which shelves slide back and forth on floor tracks. By eliminating static aisle space, a compact storage system will more than double the room’s storage capacity. As part of the project, LCHS will be renovating the room after moving the collection out of the space and into the basement exhibit gallery. Once work begins on the project, the basement exhibit gallery will be closed during the duration of the project.
For more information on the project and/or to volunteer with moving the collection and disassembling existing shelves, please contact Jennifer Andries at the Lyon County Museum at 507-537-6580 or director@lyoncomuseum.org.

Every winter, the Minnesota Council on Disability receives dozens of messages and pictures of disability parking spots blocked by piles of snow. People tell us when they try to have disability parking laws enforced, little to nothing is done. Folks with disabilities leave their homes and participate in society the same way our temporary able-bodied peers do. So, why is such little attention paid to enforcing disability parking - a basic civil right for folks with disabilities? Despite being more than one-quarter (27%) of the population, folks with disabilities are often ignored.
A change to the law allows local authorities to speed up disability parking enforcement. Minnesota Statute 169.346.2a says that an owner or manager of a property with disability parking spaces must keep those spaces and their accompanying aisles clear. If those spaces are “blocked by plowed snow, merchandise, or similar obstructions, the owner or manager is guilty of a misdemeanor and subject to a fine of up to $500.”
Before the legislature updated the law last year, property owners or managers had twenty-four hours to clear the space. Too often, this led them to block disability parking spaces without fear of punishment. Now, business owners, local law enforcement, and folks with disabilities have a new tool to ensure that disability parking spaces are available for everyone who needs them.
Without disability parking, it is difficult for people to do these basic things folks take for granted. This change ensures that folks with disabilities can buy groceries, shop for clothes, and spend time with their friends and family in public places like parks and movie theaters.
Remember: Disability parking is a right, and businesses must recognize it. Someday, you might need these spots to participate fully in your communities.
