Opening Night: Friday, November 10th

Lake Benton Opera House
118 E Benton St, Lake Benton, MN
OPENING NOVEMBER 10TH AT 7:30PM.
Purchase your tickets online at LBOH.ORG or by calling 507-368-4620
The Mousetrap began as a short radio play written by Agatha Christie as a birthday present for Queen Mary, the consort of King George V. The first broadcast was May 30, 1947 under the name Three Blind Mice. The story drew from the real-life case of Dennis O'Neill, who died after he and his brother Terence suffered extreme abuse while in the foster care of a Shropshire farmer and his wife in 1945.
The play uses the nursery rhyme "Three Blind Mice" as a metaphor for the murders yet to be committed.
This Agatha Christie classic was originally performed in London’s West End in 1952. It is a two-act murder mystery play with a twist ending that subverts the traditional genre expectations of detective fiction, set in the early 1950s.
Since the play's opening, The Mousetrap is in the Guinness Book of World Records for the longest running play in the world.
