Painted Prairie is kicking off the Corn Maze season Labor Day weekend and we invite you to join us in the fun!

Starting Friday we will be rolling out hours for you to enjoy the challenging six-acre maze and will be adding an extra special touch on Saturday....S'mores in the Maze from 4-8 p.m.!

Admission is $13 per person (4 and under free). Enjoy the maze adventures along with a fun farm animal scavenger hunt!

The Lyon County Museum is hosting a Vietnam Veterans Presentation Series on four days in early September. The Lyon County veterans, Ray Fox, Royal Hettling, Karl Porisch, and Rich Maurer will share about their military training, Vietnam service, and return from overseas.

Dementia Caregiver Support Group

Are you a spouse, child, grandchild, friend, or community member that offers to help to others with dementia by making meals, bringing to the doctor, picking up medications, cleaning, etc. then you are a caregiver. This support group is a great opportunity for you to learn more about dementia and/or support you through the journey of dementia.

This caregiver support group will meet monthly the first Wednesday of the month from 10:00 a.m. -11:30 a.m. at Adult Community Center.

SMSU AG Bowl

The Schwan Regional Event Center Marshall, MN


Ag Bowl is a celebration of agriculture in Minnesota and features numerous events for both kids and adults. The sponsors of this year's Ag Bowl include Ralco, Ace, Action Sports, Bremer Bank, CHS, Invenergy, Kibble Equipment, Minnesota/Lyon County Corn & Soybean Growers Association, Marshall Animal Clinic and Northwestern Farm Management.

 

The day begins at 2p.m. with a FREE youth football clinic hosted by the SMSU football team for kids in grades 1st through 6th grade.

 

Starting at 3p.m. Ag Bowl festivities continue with numerous activities including, a petting zoo, tractor displays, hayrides, ag related booths, mechanical bull riding, farm-themed inflatables. The Kids Pedal Pull also returns and will take place with registration starting at 3p.m.

 

The Ralco 'Food Zone' is back serving great food and beverages from 3p.m. to 5p.m. Hy-Vee, Chartwells, the SMSU Culinology Club and Lingen Dairy, have teamed-up to serve an incredible meal.

 

The day is capped by the SMSU football game versus Minot State University starting at 5 p.m. at Mattke Field at The Schwan Regional Event Center.

 

Proceeds generated by the Ag Bowl will fund scholarships and programming for worthy student-athletes and young people who will dedicate their careers to business success in agriculture, environmental science and the food industries.

Chamber E-Connection Guidelines & Policies

Newsletter Goals & Audience


The purpose of the Chamber E-Connection newsletter is to share our member's events with other business and community members. It's an informational newsletter and helps to promote our member businesses and their events. Each Friday, our newsletter is sent to over 1,500 individuals. Our separate emails are sent to the same list, but are held especially for our Chamber events and Business After Hours.


Newsletter Policy


E-Connection events are included based on the requests from the member business. The following criteria are requested by the Marshall Area Chamber for event submissions:


*Event flyers or submissions must be an actual event. We don't include sales or promotions.

*Events can be included in the E-Connection for one week free of charge. You have the option of adding one additional week for $20.

*Submissions to be included must be sent the Wednesday prior to that Friday's E-Connection - they can be emailed to chamber@marshallmn.org.

*All event flyers are for Marshall Area Chamber of Commerce members only.


Did you find any errors? It happens! Although we appreciate notice of a small error in the newsletter, we only send out a corrected e-mail if absolutely necessary.
