Congratulations to our 2023-2024 Marshall Leadership Academy participants on graduating the 9 month program this week! Through this program, participants were able to network with other local professionals, tour local businesses, hear from a multitude of speakers and panels in a variety of fields, create a group project to help a cause in the community & more!

Avera Race Against Cancer |

The Avera Race Against Cancer is tomorrow, Saturday, May 11th. Registration opens at 8:00 a.m. at 300 S. Bruce St in the front entrance of the hospital. The Circle of Hope begins the event at 8:30 a.m. with a warm-up, then the 5K and 1K walk/run to follow.
The purpose of the Avera Race is to raise money to support cancer care right here in our community. This fiscal year alone, we have been able to complete over 1,500 radiation treatments, 4,000+ oncology related infusions and 2,500+ medical oncology visits. Many of these visits have been made possible through the integrated cancer network of Avera as well as advances in telehealth. Funds raised by our local race will support the technological advances that keep patients close to home. In addition, funds will help support travel needs and services we utilize to provide holistic care for our patients. Summer Sewing Kids Camp!
Do you want to learn how to sew? Want to learn the basics of quilting including what tools to use, and the difference in threads and fabrics? This kids camp will teach you the basics of sewing. We will use basic tools like a rotary cutter, cutting mat and discuss differences in threads and fabrics. These will be hands on classes where each student will make different projects to learn various sewing / crafting skills. This camp is for kids ages 10 and up that have a working sewing machine.*

Newsletter Policy
E-Connection events are included based on the requests from the member business. The following criteria are requested by the Marshall Area Chamber for event submissions:
*Event flyers or submissions must be an actual event. We don't include sales or promotions.
*Events can be included in the E-Connection for one week free of charge. You have the option of adding one additional week for $20.
*Submissions to be included must be sent the Wednesday prior to that Friday's E-Connection - they can be emailed to chamber@marshallmn.org.
*All event flyers are for Marshall Area Chamber of Commerce members only.
Did you find any errors? It happens! Although we appreciate notice of a small error in the newsletter, we only send out a corrected e-mail if absolutely necessary.
